Not just her award acceptance speeches, but Adele's choice of green Givenchy gown for the 2017 Grammy Awards also made a statement. The "Hello" songstress beat none other Beyoncé to take home five Grammy Awards.

The 59th Annual Grammy Awards saw the "Skyfall" singer painting the Grammys red carpet green with her checkered long sleeved fern green Givenchy gown. With a wardrobe full of black dresses, Adele made a daring choice by opting to wear green for her big night at the 2017 Grammys.

Adele's red carpet look for 2017 Grammy Awards had a criss-cross checkered printed bust, long sleeves embellished with rhinestones and a pleated skirt to complete her royal look, reported People. She completed her look with perfectly matched fern green pumps. While on the red carpet, Adele also flaunted her "Angelo" tattoo, which she got in honor of her 4-year-old son.

For her opening performance at the Grammys, Adele again chose to wear a Givenchy dress designed by Riccardo Tisci. The second Givenchy dress was covered with sequins at the top and had a pleated black skirt covered with black Swarovski crystals. She opened the award ceremony with a rendition of "Hello."

On Sunday, Adele won Grammy Awards in all the five categories she had been nominated for. She beat Queen Bey in the top three categories - Album of the Year, Song of the Year and Record of the Year. Beyonce, on the other hand, took home two Golden Grammy Gramophones in Urban Contemporary Album and Music Video for "Lemonade" and "Formation" respectively, reported The Guardian.

Adele's show of love and respect for Beyoncé while receiving the awards in the top three categories left Beyonce teary-eyed. Adele went a step ahead when she was declared the winner in the Album of the Year category for her comeback album "25."

While receiving the award Adele declared that she can't possibly accept the award and rather Beyonce should get the same for "Lemonade." To honor Queen Bey, Adele physically broke the award into two on the stage.
