"The Winds of Winter" author George RR Martin will finally resume on his track and finish the second to the last book of "A Song of Fire and Ice" series. The American Novelist and screenwriter has been busy with other projects, but will not prioritize writing the upcoming book.

George RR Martin wrote on his blog post that he grew very fond of co-editing and writing stuffs with Gardner Dozois. In fact, on Dozois' new book "The Book Of Swords", Martin wrote a story titled "The Sons of the Dragon". The story will feature a lot of "telling" in opposite of Martin's usual narrative style on his novels. "The Sons of the Dragon" will tell the story of Aenys I and Maegor the Cruel's reign in Westeros so the story will take place before the events of "The Winds of Winter".

" The Winds of Winter" author clarifies that the "The Book of Swords" is not his book. He did not co-write the whole book (only small part of it), he did not co-edit it, and he insisted that all credits must go to his old friend Gardner Dozois and the other authors of the book. Martin said that the book will be as good as "Rogues" and "Dangerous Women"

Also in his blog post, he mentioned that he loves editing anthologies with Dozois and wants to do more project with this old friend.  But with "The Winds of Winter" going stale, it is time for the writer to get the book finished. Yes, he will finally be finishing the book, although a release date is not yet confirmed.

As reported by Insider, the last published book of the series is "A Dance with Dragons" and it was released after the first seasons of TV adaptation. And with the TV adaptation close to its ending, it is about time that the book needs to be back on track.
