The Chainsmokers' "Closer" Ties Score For Most Weeks #1 HotDance, 1 More Week For New Record

With tons of music in the list for the Billboard chart, The Chainsmokers' "Closer" featuring Halsey is still flying high on top for the 26th week. And with the trend still going up high, record breaking peak is possible.

According to Billboard, the duo was able to hit the top of the chart with their song "Closer" which features Halsey. The song now matches the long track record of the Avicii's "Wake Me Up!" which is first set in 2013-14. The song needs another week in the top spot to beat Avicii's "Hey Brother".

"Closer" remains the top-selling, most-streamed and most-heard radio song in the U.S.  It leads all three of the Hot 100 main component charts (Digital Song Sales, Streaming Songs and Radio Songs) simultaneously. As per Music News Web, the song is still favored on Australia, Canada, New Zealand, Ireland and United Kingdom. This makes the song "Closer" to be the first Six-country chart top for Halsey and Chainsmokers. This also causes a nomination for Best Pop Duo or Group performance in Grammys.

Meanwhile, The Chainsmokers' new single "Paris" holds the No. 2 position on Hot Dance/Electronic Songs which gains 3 percent to 59 million in on Dance/Mix Show Airplay audience.The duo, Drew Taggart and Alex Pall announced during a Grammy red carpet interview that they will be releasing via Disruptor/Sony their upcoming debut album Memories: Do Not Open  on April 7, 2017. In the meantime, the DJ pair are currently touring in Europe to promote their upcoming album. .

"Closer" was first crowned in the Billboard charts since Sept. 3, 2016 which now acquired 28.7 million U.S. streams, sold 72,000 downloads in Digital Song Sales chart and captured 153 million in airplay audience for Radio Songs. With this success, fans are hoping to see another collaboration from Halsy and The Chainsmokers.
