K-Pop Grows Up: Know Why Most Of Asia's Biggest Bands Split

K-Pop made it big in terms of the music industry not only in Asia but also in the United States. As the years progressed, however, K-Pop fanatics as most of their favorite groups disband with no hopes of reuniting.

K-Pop became one of the biggest names in the music industry. Along with its massive success across Asia is its downfall as some of the most popular K-Pop groups have already split, while those that were left are bound to take a hiatus in the near future.

CNN recently announced that a total of seven K-Pop groups have already disbanded in a span of 12 months. It was then added there are additional groups that are bound to split by the end of 2017. One of the well-loved group, 2ne1 broke their fans' hearts after they announced that they will split. Most of the K-Pop fans vented their dismay over Twitter as most of them were caught in disbelief.

The news website described 2017 as a pivotal year for the K-Pop stars, while some describe the year as the end of the K-Pop era.

"It's pretty sad to see these groups disband," Paul Han, co-founder of all pop, a site for K-pop gossip and news, stated during an interview. "You could see that their popularity has waned from their peak and naturally they receive fewer promotions and eventually disband."

Aside from 2ne1, one of the crowd favorite group, the Wonder Girls, disbanded just last month, which left most of their fans in disbelief. One of the reasons as to why most K-Pop groups made is big is their untarnished image, as most of them have been very cautious in making sure that they would not be caught up in scandals, but that's not the case. It may be their ticket to fame, but having an untarnished image also led to their downfall as most of then ended their group when members would get caught in a controversy of scandal.

 Most girl groups were caught in scandals and health issues which caused them to disband, while K-Pop groups with male members are often forced to leave their life on stage to serve the military which can last up to four years.
