'Vampire Weekend' has just released another new track (accompanied by a lyric video) from their forthcoming album, Modern Vampires of the City.

The latest single, entitled "Ya Hey," is the third track debuted by the indie rock band prior to the official release their third studio LP, dropping May 14th. Modern Vampires of the City will feature "Ya Hey" in addition to the previously released tracks "Step" and "Diane" Young."

"Vampire Weekend" unveiled "Ya Hey" by posting the Youtube link for their "brand new track" and lyric video on their Twitter page today. The band similarly released video clips back in March to go along with the premiere of their first two released singles. "Step" was accompanied by  "monochrome shots of New York City and subtitled lyrics," while "Diane Young" showed  an "abandoned Saab in flames," notes Metro.

The latest clips for the "Ya Hey" lyric video (below) "features people of all ages standing on a rooftop wrapped in what appears to bed sheets and popping bottles," reveals Rolling Stone.

The four band members of Vampire Weekend (Ezra Koenig, Rostam Batmanglij, Chris Baio and Chris Tomson) started working on their upcoming record back in 2009, states NPR. At that point, they were still recording Contra, the band's second album, which featured hits like "Herchata" and "White Sky."

NPR notes that while the band still maintains a distinctive sound on their newest album, there are "darker moments" on Modern Vampires of the City, as well as "more thoughtful and reflective moments amongst the pop fun."

This tone of the album is first set by the album cover (shown below) which portrays a black and white aerial shot of "their" city, New York.

"Things that we might have found boring in the past, we've started to find more fresh," Koenig told Rolling Stone in January regarding the new album. "This record has more piano and acoustic guitar and organ. But at the same time, that means we needed to find ways to flip it."
