The FX hit series "American Horror Story" is getting ready for its seventh season. After initially teasing that the season will be more like season 4's "Freak Show", recent reports suggest that season 7 would be based on the recently-concluded U.S. Presidential elections.

Speaking on "Watch What Happens with Andy Cohen," series producer Ryan Murphey dropped biggest and weirdest bomb for "American Horror Story" thus far. Murphey added that while a title has not been placed, shooting for season 7 will revolve around the last elections, which could be very interesting for people.  And when asked if then-candidate Donald Trump will be seen in series, Murphey gives a play safe "maybe", Variety reported.

As of the moment, two actors have committed their return to "American Horror Story." According to Den of Geek, Sarah Paulson and Even Peters, both being with the series since the first season, will be joining season 7.

A short teaser for season 7 was also released some time back. While nothing new was seen in the trailer, it does give the vibe that it would pull every season of "American Horror Story" together. The theory of a season that puts everything in perspective has been in the talks for most fans for a long time.

"American Horror Story" is a horror series created and produced by Murphey and Brad Falchuk. Each season is unique from one another, with individual set of story lines, characters and mysteries. With the first season "Murder House" airing on 2011, every season takes place either on the year the show is released, or some time in the past.

Reception of "American Horror Story" has been mixed, but mostly positive. The show has been giving the network FX high viewer ratings since first airing, as well as netting some awards along the way. After getting cleared for a seventh season last 2016, "American Horror Story" has been renewed for two more seasons by FX.
