Award-winning singer Mariah Carey's New Year's Eve performance made the headlines for the wrong reason. After a short retreat from cameras and social media, Carey talks about the mishap and points a lot of fingers, herself included.

Speaking in an interview with Rolling Stone, Carey stated that she is sorry for the mess that happened during the "Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve with Ryan Seacrest" event. According to the 46-year old singer, had it not been the chaotic mess that it was, she would have been able to do something about it.

Mariah also said that she blames everybody for the issue. That includes herself, because she felt that she should have left after the rehearsals for the said program.

It would be remembered that on December 31, the "Mariah's World" star was part of the pre-midnight talents scheduled for the show aired on ABC. Technical difficulties plagued her three-song performance, starting from the first number "Auld Lang Syne." Unable to hear the backup vocals on her earpiece, Mariah's rendition of the song was starting to show some struggles.

Things got worse for Mariah on the second and third songs, which were her hit tracks "Emotions" and "We Belong Together". Still struggling with the equipment, the singer instead played around with the crowd and did her best to become a good sport in front of the crowd.

Dick Clark Productions have already released a statement regarding the fiasco, stating that initial investigations show that the production team had no liability for the technical challenges that occurred. For Mariah though, her recent performance of her new single "I Don't" in "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" proved that she still has it, given the right environment.

Carey is currently focused on being a mother to her twin five year-olds. According to E!, she is getting parental help from former husband Nick Cannon, who recently faced some reports stating that he is suffering from a nervous breakdown.

Mariah Carey will be joined by Lionel Ritchie on her "All The Hits" tour scheduled for March 15 to May 27 2017.
