The "emancipation" of Miley Cyrus from her Disney "Hannah Montana" image has officially been launched, as the Elle UK cover girl "twerks" her way to the top of Maxim's 2013 'HOT 100' list. Miley excitedly broke the news that she was named number 1 via Twitter on Friday night (even before the magazine released the list of names on their annual list).
"Didn't know this was coming out yet! I'm so happy to be #1 on Maxims HOT 100! #myfanskickass #dreamsdocometrue," the "Ashtrays & Heartbreaks" singer tweeted with her winning "HOT 100" photo attached.
In addition to landing the top spot in Maxim, the star, who seemingly "can't be tamed," is also featured on the cover of two other magazines this month: Elle UK and V Magazine. Miley, along with her mentor Pharrell WIlliams, also recently spilled all the dirty details about her new look and newly-found identity (which will be reflected in her upcoming hip-hop inspired album) in an exclusive interview with V Magazine.
Cyrus' Maxim photo (seen above) is not nearly as scandalous as the pictures surfacing from her recent V Magazine cover shoot, which ironically left much of the 20-year-old uncovered. She is seen sporting a gold cut-out bathing suit with her blonde pixie cut, while lying on her side in the 'HOT 100' Maxim photo that she tweeted.
The "racy" V Magazine pictures (seen below) feature a new side of the former Disney pop-star that fans have never seen before, as she unveils her "underboob" and all black leather look in one photo, cheeky studded short-shorts (also leather) and a backwards jacket in another, and a backless pink top with baggy/butt-exposing athletic pants along with pink pixie hair to match in a third.
Miley Cyrus and her mentor/producer Pharrell Williams, gave some background behind the "evolved" Miley's new look and sound in the "Emancipation of Miley" article, featured in V Magazine.
"I'm going to change, I'm going to be different, I'm going to do what I want to do. I chopped my hair and bought a pair of Docs and never looked back," the former Disney star told the magazine.
She explained that she's not messing around this time, as she is serious about putting the "real" Miley out there and leaving "Hannah Montana" behind her once and for all.
Cyrus also notes that she's not targeting her previous "pop" fan-base with her new first post-Disney record. While discovering who she really is as an artist, the singer revealed, "It's not about the girly-girl sh*t anymore, the pop sh*t. Times are changing, music is changing, fashion is changing. It's all changing."
