Rihanna News: Singer Named 'Humanitarian Of The Year' At Harvard

There is no stopping for this world renowned artist after she got her 30th top 10 hit on Bilboard Hot 100, Rihanna is now set to receive yet another honor and this time it is the 2017 Harvard University Humanitarian of the Year award.

According to Hollywood Reporter, the starlet will accept the award on campus the next Tuesday. The singer/designer/philanthropist/actress will accept the Peter J. Gomes Humanitarian Award at a ceremony on the campus of the esteemed Boston institution.

After Rihanna's epic work with her Clara and Lionel Foundation Scholarship Program, the honor has come her way. The foundation has been named after her grandparents. Rihanna has taken many efforts in promoting education and allowing for students coming from Caribbean countries, so that they can be a part of the United States' educational system.

Also she has stood in support for the Global Partnership for Education and the Global Citizen Project and headlined last year's festival in New York.

Rihanna has created a charitable one of its kind, a masterpiece center for oncology and nuclear medicine to diagnose and treat breast cancer at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Bridgetown, Barbados, according to Harvard Foundation director S. Allen Counter.

At Sanders theatre, the diva will be presented with the award. Members of the Harvard community can get their tickets to the ceremony at the Harvard University Box Office, as per Billboard.

This way Rihanna, originally Robyn Rihanna Fenty has one more feather in her cap. The artist has sold almost 200 million records till now. Some of her all time hits include "Needed Me", "Umbrella", "Where Have You Been". Her other achievements include Grammy Award for the best Rap Song, Grammy Award for the Best Music Video including 6 other Grammys. She will always serve as a source of inspiration for generations to come.
