"You included a trans character but it had zero to do with the story. Because trans people just exist. I'm trans, I exist, I'm sitting here," she said during the panel. She further praised the creators behind the upcoming "Sense8" Season 2, "Orange Is the New Black", and "The OA".

The 39-year-old actress continued to emphasize how important it was to represent diversity on TV in the midst of a political upheaval.
