Tesla has revolutionized the electric car industry by introducing cars that go head to head with gasoline cars. Tesla cars were costly hindering their adoption in the mass market. However, Tesla Model 3 is an affordable electric car that will go into production this year in July and full-scale production in September.

Tesla has made sure that their 3,75,000 fans on the waiting list for Tesla Model 3 will get their cars as early as July this year. Tesla will bump up the production to 10,000 units per week "at some point in 2018", reported ExtremeTech.

Elon Musk said that Tesla will be able to deliver more than five lakh vehicles in 2018 and people those who have ordered Tesla Model 3 will be able to take the delivery most probably by next year. According to some analysts, many high-end sports electric vehicles from Tesla are approaching to a saturation point and this might leave around 40% production slots for the Tesla Model 3.

Tesla is scrambling to improve its production process to manufacture as much as 10 times the electric cars before it launches Tesla Model 3. Tesla has set a time period of three years for this achievement. The company has also bought Grohmann Engineering that is a German firm specializing in automation, reported Engadget.

The company is also planning to increase the number of Super Charger locations in North America that will make long cross-country trips much convenient and easy on electric cars like Tesla Model 3. Tesla is also enhancing its mobile repair service claiming that more than 80 percent of repair can be performed remotely at the owner's place. Tesla VP Jeff Evanson said: "It's our vision in the future that we'll be able to offer a single price for the car, maintenance and insurance in a really compelling offering for the consumer."

Tesla Model 3 is rivaled by Chevrolet Bolt EV and Hyundai Ioniq EV. The Chevrolet's electric car has a 238-mile range while the Hyundai has a 124-mile range per single charge. Tesla Model 3 is one of the best electric cars from Tesla, however, the Hyundai Ioniq EV will be the most efficient car to be sold in the US in the future with 136 MPGe rating.
