Android 8.0 Oreo The Next Version Of The Android's Operating System Update

Now that Android has updated its latest operating system to another delicious treat, Nougat, it is once again much-awaited for the announcement of the next update. What would be the name of the next Android 8.0 update is?

Google is pretty wise when naming their update follows the alphabetic scheme and since Android had Nougat, obviously the next Android will be called something that starts with O. Fortunately, there are rumors and as hinted before, the next version might possibly be named, Oreo.

A few days earlier, Hiroshi Lockheimer, Android SVP, Chrome OS and Play, posted in Twitter an Oreo GIF. Rumors surface after that twitter post, that it could be the next version of Android. Nevertheless, it was not the first time an information was revealed, though, some predictions didn't really happen, Androidguys shared.

A simple game has been rolled out in the internet, a company who owns the Oreo brand, Mondelez, joined Google in creating the game called, the Oreo dunk Challenge. The game is to just simply toss the Oreo into a glass of milk. However, there has been no confirmations as of yet that Oreo will be the next name of the Android update, though, Google has obviously put the phrase "Created with our friends in Google", at the start of the game.

Meanwhile, according to reports, Google might be announcing it within their I/O timeframe. Google has traditionally used Google I/O when announcing a new version of its Android OS. The timeframe means it will take place sometime in the 3rd week of May 2017 at the Shoreline Amphitheatre in Mountain View, California, according to PCAdvisor.

With so many hints of different names surfacing the web, the announcement of Google makes everyone jump off with excitement. Hopefully, Google will get to choose an easier name and will announce it together with any new hardware soon.
