John Boyega has unveiled another image from the upcoming "Pacific Rim: Uprising." This comes days after the official logo was released for the sequel to the 2013 clash between monsters and robots.

Boyega, who plays Jeager pilot Jake Pentecost, is shown in deep thought on the image he shared via Instagram. Not much hint is given about the "Pacific Rim: Uprising" picture's background or story, though it seems that the shot was taken from a bulkhead, Polygon reported.

If Boyega's last name in "Pacific Rim: Uprising" sounds familiar, it is because his character is the son of Stacker Pentecost from the first "Pacific Rim." Portrayed by Idris Elba, Stacker was a first-generation Jeager pilot and commanding officer of the Jeager projet. He also acquired terminal cancer from his piloting days, as the older Jeager models did not have radiation shielding.

The official logo for "Pacific Rim: Uprising" was also revealed through Instagram by director Stephen DeKnight. Sharing the image a few days before Boyega's pic, the logo heavily resembles the logo from the first film, though it adds "Uprising" underneath. Movieweb also reported that DeKnight, with "Pacific Rim: Uprising" as his directorial debut, has kept tight lips on the project as it continues production.

"Pacific Rim: Uprising" will continue the events after blowing up the Breach in "Pacific Rim". Guillermo Del Toro, who helmed the first film, was scheduled to work on the sequel, though the project was given to DeKnight some time after. Del Toro is still part of "Pacific Rim: Uprising", now sitting on the producer's chair.

Rinko Kikuchi, Charlie Day and Burn Gorman from the first movie will be reprising their roles in "Pacific Rim: Uprising" as Mako Mori, Dr. Newt Geiszler and Dr. Hermann Gottlieb respectively. Charlie Hunnam, who played as lead protagonist Raleigh Becket, has confirmed that he would not be part of the sequel, though he is excited that it is going to happen.

"Pacific Rim: Uprising" is scheduled to boot up on February 2018.
