On Sunday night, "La La Land" was announced as the winner of the Best Picture at the 2017 Oscars. All the cast and key people of the film went up on stage. But the announcement was a mistake because the real winner was "Moonlight". That big blunder has become the target of jokes and parodies. And one of the latest is by James Corden on the newest episode of the "Late Late Show".

The British host of the "Late Late Show" acted out a key scene from "La La Land" featuring Emma Stone belting away. Stone's character, Mia, reminisced about her aunt's life who used to be an actress in Paris, Metro reported. However, instead of singing about the bittersweet remembrances, James Corden sang about the embarrassing 2017 Oscars snafu instead.

To boot, the 36-year-old "Late Late Show" main man even sported a wavy red wig and an outfit similar to Mia's. He began the parody by transplanting himself on the sofa sitting beside Ryan Gosling's Seb. James Corden as Mia was then called into a room to begin the audition. Once the judges are settled, he tells them about the "La La Land" hullaballoo at the 2017 Oscars through song.

James Corden set the mood right from the start by telling the judges how "La La Land" was Best Picture. He followed it up by saying the 2017 Oscars moment was ruined by people from PricewaterhouseCooper. And he continues to tell the painfully embarrassing story through song for his "Late Late Show" parody, Elite Daily reported.

The "Late Late Show" host also did not miss a beat about how Moonlight was a "film about handjobs on the beach". He also nodded at Ryan Gosling, lead actor for "La La Land", who did not cry at the gaffe. Instead, the actor was even filmed laughing behind everyone else on stage at the 2017 Oscars. At the conclusion of the song, James Corden finished up by singing "Smiling through it, I don't want to do it again."
