‘Yuri on Ice’ Season 2 Release Date: Cast Returning for New Season; Series Tops Blu-ray Sales

Fans of "Yuri on Ice" are still in limbo. There's been no official news regarding the highly anticipated "Yuri on Ice" Season 2 release date. However, hopes are up in the air as it has been revealed that the series topped Japan's Blu-ray sales.

According to Crunchyroll, the most updated Oricon sales report reveals that "Yuri on Ice" sold 33,000 units during its first week in the Blu-ray universe. This is the second biggest figure from the franchise. The big number of sales has raised hopes for a "Yuri on Ice" Season 2 release.

The biggest number recorded in the series' Blu-ray releases is 36,000 units. Due to the continued success of the hit anime in DVD sales, fans are hoping that the "Yuri on Ice" Season 2 release date will be announced soon. Mitsuro Kubo has yet to officially announce whether a second installment will push through.

Despite the lack of news regarding the release of "Yuri on Ice" Season 2, the franchise continues to grow in sales. Aside from topping in the Blu-ray charts in Japan, there are now futon covers featuring the core cast members in the series.

According to Anime News Network, fans can now pre-order polyester covers that feature illustrations of "Yuri on Ice" characters Viktor, and the two Yuris. As pre-orders rise in number, fans are hoping that their continued support for the series' themed items will be a reason for "Yuri on Ice" Season 2 to be produced.

Meanwhile, there are new reports suggesting that "Yuri on Ice" Season 2 will still feature Viktor Nikiforov, Yuri Plisetsky, and Yuri Katsuki. The rumors stem from the all-night screening event that viewers of the series patronized. During the show, a visual of the anime show featured 12 skaters who appeared on the first season.

The new visual ignited talks that the 12 skaters, including the three main characters, will all return for the second installment. It has also spiked interest for the highly anticipated "Yuri on Ice" Season 2 release.
