Keanu Reeves has reestablished himself among the modern action heroes, which made fans wonder if there will be "The Matrix 4". Reeves told the press that he was amendable to the idea of a fourth film in the franchise, but only if the original directors, the Wachowskis, will handle the movie.

Back in 2014, Reeves' "John Wick" became a commercial success. It was followed up by "John Wick: Chapter 2" this 2017. The two movies reaffirmed Reeves' stardom. The second movie also had Reeves working together with "The Matrix" co-star Laurence Fishburne. Reeves told Yahoo! News that he was ready to do "The Matrix 4", fourteen years after "The Matrix Revolutions".

He said that, for the fourth movie to happen, Lana and Lilly Wachowskis would have to return to write and direct it. Hollywood is no stranger to reboots, so there's a chance "The Matrix 4" could still be produced. At the end of the original trilogy, Neo (Keanu Reeves) died, leaving the war between machines and humans on a ceasefire. The series was a commercial hit, earning Warner Bros. around $1.5 billion in total.

At the end of "The Matrix Revolutions", even the Oracle had hinted that Neo would be back someday. The fourth film is rumored to be "The Matrix Resurrection", although there has been no official confirmation about the movie or the title. According to Den of Geek, Reeves is more interested in continuing "Bill & Ted". The 52-year-old actor has some ideas about the sequel, but nothing is certain as fans are more interested in his return in "The Matrix 4".

During the "John Wick: Chapter 2" premiere, Reeves and Fishburne met up with Carrie Anne Moss, who played Trinity in "The Matrix" series. It certainly gave fans a lot of nostalgia. "People die, stories don't, people in stories don't," Reeves said, expressing hope that "The Matrix 4" still has a possibility of coming true. After all, Reeves has proven that his action flicks can make a lot of money and bring in positive reviews. "John Wick" earned $88.8 million while the sequel got $144.4 million.
