Ben Affleck was hailed as the saving grace of "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" and fans are anticipating his "The Batman" movie. There are a lot of controversies surrounding the production, from its director to its main star, but one thing fans really want to see is which villains will appear in the solo Batman movie.

The Batman made an appearance in "Suicide Squad", so it would make sense that some of the villains there will also appear in the 2019 "The Batman" movie. Deadshot has a lot of history with Batman. Also, both are humans. Deadshot is an expert marksman, but he's not a metahuman. He can go toe-to-toe with Batman and is a sympathetic character who is both hero and villain.

Another staple in the Batman universe is Poison Ivy. There's going to be a "Gotham City Sirens" film soon, involving Catwoman, Harley Quinn and Poison Ivy. The green queen of plants has worked with many of Batman's other enemies and has proven to be one slippery nemesis. In "The Batman" movie, Poison Ivy's story could be explored before the "Gotham City Sirens".

The Joker is, of course, Batman's eternal enemy. Many viewers loved the interaction between Joker and Batman in "The Lego Batman Movie". Plus, fans will always love Heath Ledger's Joker in "The Dark Knight", so many it would make a lot of sense if he will be in Ben Affleck's "The Batman" movie, according to We Got This Covered.

While viewers were still divided about Jared Leto's performance in "Suicide Squad", a Batman trilogy will not be complete without the Clown Prince of Crime going head-to-head with the Dark Knight. It just might happen in "The Batman" movie, considering "Batman v Superman" hinted that the Joker had already killed Jason Todd, the second Robin. If the Joker does appear, it will be one very intense movie.

According to Cinemablend, "The Batman" movie will bring out the big guns. The caped crusader will reportedly face off with a lot of iconic villains in his solo movie. Another villain that would tie up nicely with Batman's DCEU storyline is Hush. The Hush story in the comics revolved much around the idea that Jason Todd, the second Robin, was alive and taking his revenge on Batman, who failed to save him. Of course, it was actually Thomas Elliot, Bruce Wayne's childhood, but it certainly gave ol' Bats the scare. Also, the Hush arc saw Batman working with Catwoman and his new Robin, Tim Drake.

Since there's still no news about the plot of "The Batman", fans speculate that the storyline could be father than they expect. If that were true, Red Hood could make an appearance. Red Hood, who is now Jason Todd back from the dead, will bring all of Batman's fears and pain to life. This could also serve to bring in Nightwing, the first Robin, and Red Robin, the third one.

There are so many characters that could be part of "The Batman" movie cast. For now, fans are just hoping that Ben Affleck will not leave his role. The film is slated for a 2019 release date, which is ample time for the studio to finalize the movie's script and production. There's no doubt that the solo Batman flick is one that fans hope will be as impressive as Chris Nolan's "The Dark Knight".
