"The Lego Batman Movie" is in theaters worldwide and it's a breath of fresh air for DC fans who wanted some fun against the gloomy atmosphere of recent live-action DC films. Will Arnett stars as Batman in this hilarious 3D computer animated film. It's a great exploration of Batman's universe, featuring villains viewers have never heard of, plus many interesting Easter Eggs regarding the DCEU.

Everyone knows The Joker, Bane, Clayface, Poison Ivy, The Riddler, and Two-Face as Batman's staple villains. In the history of DC comics featuring Batman, though, there are a lot more bad gyts that many fans don't even know about. Some of them are downright strange. In "The Lego Batman Movie", there are: The Calculator, Calendar Man, Condiment King, Crazy Quilt, Egghead, The Eraser, Kabuki Twins, Kite Man, Orca, Polka-Dot Man, Zebra Man, and Zodiac Master among others.

Of course, aside from the villains are the characters that have appeared in the original Batman comics (called "Detective Comics") and classic Batman TV shows and films. For example, there's O'Hara, who was in the 60s Batman series, according to Collider. In "The Lego Batman Movie" there's also a line that goes, "Wanna get nuts? Let's get nuts!" It's a reference to Michael Keaton's performance as Bruce Wayne/Batman in 1989.

The Bat Shark repellant is also another reference to a gag in the 1966 Batman TV series. Eagle-eyed fans will also have noticed a "Batman Beyond" outfit among Batman's clothes rack in his cave in "The Lego Batman Movie". Of course, any DC fan who watched the film will also have noticed the "Suicide Squad" reference about using criminals to fight the Phantom Zone villains.

"The Lego Batman Movie" makes fun of Batman and DC elements, Den of Geek noted. It's obvious though that there's a lot of Bat-love in the film, which serves as a tribute to Batman and his fans. The Batman series in the 60s got a lot of references, especially the one with Adam West as Batman dancing -- and it wasn't even in Lego form. It was in its full live-action glory.

The film is a great homage to all the Batman films, series, and comics that came before. Barbara Gordon (Rosario Dawson) even went so far as to present slides of all the major Batman films and series depicted by Lego Batman. It's the perfect movie for hardcore Batman fans.
