Japanese video game publisher Bandai Namco confirmed that "Tekken 7" will not receive a cross-platform play between Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and the PC, contrary to what gamer's speculated before.

According to the publishers' announcement via its official Australian Twitter account, the long-running 3D fighting game series will not roll out a cross-platform feature. Furthermore, "Tekken 7's" producer Katsuhiro Harada even noted that he wanted to materialize the said feature but Sony and/or Microsoft are not allowing him because of either some security policy issue, a 1st Party issue or an exclusivity issue.

In addition, Harada further explained that letting cross-play between Xbox One or PS 4 and PC would split the latter version. With that said, the player base on 3 platforms will be divided and may give an unfair advantage over the other platforms.

Meanwhile, according to Gaming Bolt, since Microsoft now permits cross play between other networks and Xbox Live, so Sony may be the one to blame for "Tekken 7" not receiving a cross-platform feature, as the said company is known to be hampering cross-platform online play.

Although "Tekken 7" drops cross-play feature, Bandai Namco announced that they will be adding a new fighter to its lineup - Eddy Gordo. According to Video Games Republic, the legendary Capoeira fighter will have a similar fighting style to "Tekken 6: Dark Resurrection's" Christie Monteiro, who happens to be his master's granddaughter.

In "Tekken" history, Eddy trained Christie until such time that the latter mastered the art, which took 2 years to happen. He left Christie to avenge his master's death but the latter became troubled. The same publication noted that both characters shared the same ending in "Tekken 6," as they were both crying at the Legendary Capoeira Master's grave.

In other news, the game's updated arcade version "Tekken: Fated Retribution" is slated to be released on June 2 for Windows PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4. The game publisher promised game enthusiasts that they will deliver a fighting game experience to the next level, with the titles' gameplay style and groundbreaking graphics.
