Azealia Banks was forced to show herself in a New York court on Tuesday. The controversial rapper missed her Monday hearing, hence a state judge issued an arrest warrant for her.

The Harlem native was supposed to attend a court hearing on Mar. 6 for misdemeanor assault and assault charges. However, the 25-year-old failed to show up so a New York judge immediately signed an arrest warrant for her. That was immediately scrapped, though, when Azealia Banks appeared the next day for the hearing.

John Vafa, Azealia Banks' entertainment attorney, released a statement to clarify the issue, Billboard wrote. He explained that his client missed the court hearing because she thought it was scheduled on Wednesday (Mar. 9). That is why she was in Paris for the city's touted fashion week instead of being at court in New York.

The court charges filed against her are due to a December 2015 incident. Azealia Banks was at the posh Manhattan nightclub Up&Down. Apparently, she wanted to enter an invitation-only party happening downstairs. But she did not have the necessary entry stamp and was told to acquire one upstairs.

At first, she attempted to explain to the male and female bouncers who she was, even telling them that she featured on Rihanna's album. But the two security guards did not recognize Azealia Banks and she got into an argument with them while they showed her out of the club. She got mad and proceeded to punch the female guard and even bit her breast, according to Mail Online.

That was not Azealia Banks' first public outburst. In October 2015, she was also said to have gotten into a fight with a security guard at the Break Room 86 in Los Angeles. The guard asked the rapper to leave the premises due to her disorderly behavior.
