Looks like pretty couple Selena Gomez, 24, and The Weeknd, 27, are ready to take their relationship to the next level. But there is an important hurdle to cross - Selena's mother, Mandy.

According to a report on Life & Style Mag, Selena Gomez's mother met the "Starboy" singer but is not impressed with her daughter's choice. "Mandy has met Abel and thinks he is respectful in person, but she doesn't think he's a good influence on Selena," a source told the magazine. It looks like Selena's mother doesn't approve The Weeknd's "dirty and drug-related lyrics."

The report further stated, it's just not Mandy, but many of Selena Gomez's friends and family are in approval of her decision. Post her break up with Justin Bieber, Selena Gomez almost spent 90 days at a rehab facility to overcome depression and anxiety. Her family is now afraid that she is taking the wrong path again and she "needs to be surrounded by healthy people." Her addiction to Justin took her to a dark place mentally that resulted in a breakdown.

An earlier report on Teen Vouge reported on how Selena Gomez chose to skip the iHeartRadio Music Awards to spend time with her family in Dallas-despite having a nomination for Female Artist of the Year and Best Fan Army.

Meanwhile, Justin Bieber has posted a couple of selfies on his Instagram account with few controversial tag lines that read, "Stupid is as stupid does - forest gumps mom," and "Love is patient love is kind love does Not envy." Soon, media started speculating that the "Sorry" singer was hinting at his ex-girlfriend, Selena Gomez.

Why would Justin comment in his own Selfies? Fans soon speculated that the singer is patiently waiting for Selena Gomez to return while some defended him stating that it could be a random quoted.
