For fans who are already excited on the "Alien: Covenant" - the sequel to "Prometheus" - here come another exciting scoop. Going by the reports, Sir Ridley Scott has already completed the follow-up script for another sequel.

The news was published on Sydney Morning Herald, which stated that while working on "Alien: Covenant," Scott was keen to keep the saga going and has already penned the next installment. The report also had quotes from Scott, who confirmed that he doesn't want a two-year gap for the next offing, this way it will be ready to go next year. "If you really want a franchise, I can keep cranking it for another six. I'm not going to close it down again. No way," the report quotes Scott as saying.

The Independent UK claimed that this might be the reason to temporarily withhold Neill Blomkamp's long-anticipated "Alien 5" that marks the return of Sigourney Weaver as Ellen Ripley. The report also revealed that it is still unsure whether the set visit has occurred for the "Prometheus" sequel. But considering the overwhelming response to promo materials of "Alien: Covenant," it is likely to happen soon.

The cast of "Alien: Covenant" is headed by Fantastic Beasts actor Katharine Waterston along with original stars Noomi Rapace, Demián Bichir, Danny McBride, James Franco and Michael Fassbender. Scheduled for a worldwide release on May 19, the prequel is derived from a story by Michael Green and Jack Paglen with screenplay support from John Logan and Dante Harper.

From the trailer, it looks like the film is set to take the franchise back to its original flavor, namely the horror. With a horror element backed with visual brilliance, it looks like fans can get ready for another heart-wrenching thriller-the rest and the box office success is assured.
