The breakup of "Twilight" stars Kristen Steward and Robert Pattinson is one the most memorable celebrity breakups in recent history. This is especially true since it happened at a time when both were at the height of their career riding on the worldwide popularity of the "Twilight" series.

Of course, there was that other event that made their breakup even more scandalous to fans' eyes. The breakup came after photos of Kristen Stewart kissing Rupert Sanders, director of "Snow White and the Huntsman." The "Twilight" actress not only dated another man while still in a relationship with co-star Robert Pattinson, she was having an affair with a married man at that. Sanders was then married to Liberty Ross, a model with whom he has two kids.

Kristen Stewart previously admitted that it was not exactly the best time of her life, she has since then moved on from those tumultuous times of her life. In fact, the actress now feels comfortable discussing her failed relationship with "Twilight" co-star Robert Pattinson.

"I would have kept my life private for ever," Kristen Steward told The Times in an interview. "But then I can't walk outside holding somebody's hand, as I'm followed everywhere. When I was dating Rob, the public were the enemy - and that is no way to live," the actress explained the difficulties in maintaining a relationship with Robert Pattinson amidst the glaring spotlight on their romance, which was basically open for the entire world to see.

It may also have something to do with keeping up appearances. At that time, Kristen Stewart is still on the road toward discovering her true identity. Kristen Stewart had since moved on from her failed romance with Robert Pattinson and already came out as bisexual last year. The "Twilight" actress announced that she is now happy with her relationship with film producer girlfriend Alicia Cargile, People reported.
