'All Eyez On Me' Release Date & Poster Out: The Biopic About the Life Of Tupac Shakur

The long-awaited biopic of Tupac Shakur has finally received a release date along with a brand new poster. "All Eyez On Me" is the film based on the life of famous rapper and is all set to be released on June 16 this year.

Produced by Morgan Creek Entertainment, Program Pictures and Codeblack Films, the film will follow the controversial life of the iconic 90's rapper. The biopic is set to release the same day which would have marked Tupac's 46th birthday.

The film chronicles to the Tupac's stardom, his rise and follows Shakur from his early days in New York City to the sudden death of the rapper at the age of 25. Also, the film will reveal his imprisonment and controversial times at Death Row Records.

"All Eyez On Me" is directed by Benny Boom and stars stars Demetrius Shipp Jr. (as Tupac Shakur), Danai Gurira (as Tupac's mother), Kat Graham, Lauren Cohan, Hill Harper, Jamal Woolard. The project started back in 2011 when Morgan Creek teamed with Emmett/Furla/Oasis to make the film, reported Screenrant.

The film shares the name with Tupac's 1996 album "All Eyez On Me" that sold more than 10 million records worldwide and was the rapper's fourth studio album. Shakur sold more than 75 million records worldwide in his lifetime and he will be inducted into Rock and Roll Hall of Fame this year in April, reported Billboard.

The trailer for "All Eyez On Me" has been released and gives a sneak peek into the storyline of the film. It focusses on the rapper's mother Afeni Shakur, a Black Panther and an activist. In the whole trailer, Afeni speaks to her son Tupac about the consequences he will face for being an African-American.

Tupac is considered as the most influential and iconic rappers of all time. The biopic "All Eyez On Me" is the first attempt at telling Tupac's story to the whole world. The film took six long years to finally release in 2017 and it seems it is worth the wait. Meanwhile, enjoy the trailer for "All Eyez On Me".
