"Outlander" Season 3 is shaping up more and more as the cast and crew have moved to South Africa from Scotland for filming. The third season of the romantic time-travelling drama will be based on Diana Gabaldon's third novel, "Voyager," which contained a lot of sailing passages.

Matthew B. Roberts, executive producer for Starz' hit romantic sci-fi show, has been giving fans glimpses of the sets of "Outlander" Season 3 for a while now. His Instagram posts are getting loyal followers of Jamie and Claire through what they call the Droughtlander, Den of Geek! shared. The set photos are beautiful and they also hint as to what will be included in the show's third season. Just recently, the cast and crew were in Scotland to film part of the series. Afterward, they moved to South Africa to shoot Jamie and Claire's sea voyage with their pirate crew.

In fact, Matthew B. Roberts shared more photos, showing the ship's mast and a glimpse of its interior. Fans can expect to see a lot of South Africa's seas in "Outlander" Season 3 as Jamie and Claire did spend a lot of time aboard a ship in "Voyager." CarterMatt wrote that filming is likely to last for months under the hot and humid weather.

As for its premiere, fans of the Diana Gabaldon adaptation can expect it in September. However, while filming is going on in South Africa, there is no definite date yet for "Outlander" Season 3. Starz President of Programming Carmi Zlotnik said that fans will have to brave a long Droughtlander. She said that "Voyager" is an immense book. To give viewers the best adaptation, the cast and crew are given a longer time for production. Furthermore, Zlotnik also hinted that the third season of the show will have more episodes. So fans can cross their fingers for an extended run of Starz' runaway hit series.
