Details concerning weapons and character updates in "Star Wars: The Last Jedi" remain under wraps. However, a source revealed that one particular spear falls into the hands of Gwendoline Christie's Captain Phasma in the movie.

Captain Phasma will reportedly have a new weapon in the film, according to a source with knowledge of the production. The source told Making Star Wars that the Imperial soldier uses a spear in "Star Wars: The Last Jedi" and that "she looks killer" with it.

The source clarified that this spear is akin to a staff. However, there were no other details or descriptions revealed. It remains unknown if this weapon is something that Captain Phasma actually uses to fight with or just for ornamental purpose in "Star Wars: The Last Jedi."

According to the publication, it could be for decorative purpose only as being part of Supreme Leader Snoke's Royal Guards. The spear could be for use during First Order rituals only and Captain Phasma may not actually use it for combat. So far, the spears worn by the Royal Guards have not been used during battles.

Regardless, it would be interesting to see Captain Phasma wield the spear as her weapon in "Star Wars: The Last Jedi." It would put Christie's knowledge on sword and lance fighting from "Game of Thrones" to good use.

Likewise, having her use the spear in combat would pay tribute to one of the lovable characters in the "Star Wars" franchise. It would remind fans of the Ewoks. According to Star Wars Underworld, the spears were predominantly used by these small creatures.

Meanwhile, further details about Captain Phasma's role in "Star Wars: The Last Jedi" remain scarce. Perhaps she plays a major role this time, instead of being an inconsequential side character. The last time fans saw her in "Star Wars: The Force Awakens," Finn and Chewie had thrown her into the trash compactor. Perhaps she returns in the sequel to hunt them.
