Celine Dion Slams Reporter At ‘Beauty and the Beast’ Event For Asking About Adele & Beyoncé

Singer Celine Dion attended the "Beauty and the Beast" premiere recently and scolded an interviewer who asked her about the Adele and Beyoncé Grammy Awards issue. The "Because You Loved Me" singer told the interviewer that she did not want to talk about the Grammy Awards controversy and that he should focus on the film instead.

When Celine Dion attended the red carpet premiere of Disney's live-action "Beauty and the Beast" film, she did not expect to talk about the Adele and Beyoncé incident. However, one reporter from EuroWeb asked Dion about Adele winning the Album of the Year award over Beyoncé. Entertainment Tonight Canada caught the exchange in a video.

Although Adele won the award, she dedicated the triumph to Beyoncé, whom she called her inspiration. The reporter was fishing for something juicy about Celine Dion's take on the controversy. He said that some people claimed that Adele had hijacked the award. There was certainly a lot of controversy about that night when Adele, despite winning the award, thanked Beyoncé instead.

Beyoncé had won the Best Urban Contemporary Album award, but lost the Album of the Year award to Adele, much to the surprise of many fans. They were expecting "Queen Bey" to nab that award from the get-go. It's not surprising that both Adele and Beyoncé fans couldn't let go of the issue.

The 48-year-old Celine Dion, however, stopped the reporter, saying that she didn't want to talk about the Grammys. "I don't wanna be rude to you, but I'm not here to talk about the Grammys," she said. She emphasized that she would rather talk about the "Beauty and the Beast" film since that was the event they attended, according to Unreality TV.

The "My Heart Will Go On" artist then smiled at the reporter and said that she didn't want him to miss anything about the film. Celine Dion, as fans will remember, performed the original "Beauty and the Beast" song with Peabo Bryson in 1991. For the live-action adaptation, she performed "How Does a Moment Last Forever".
