The "Outlander" stars Sam Heughan and Caitriona Balfe are rumored to be dating despite their romance to MacKenzie Mauzy and Tony McGill respectively. New rumors suggest that Heughan's relationship with Mauzy is just a stunt.

Sam Heughan and Caitriona didn't confirm any romantic ties between them. Their fans are also aware that they are in a relationship with somebody else but many are convinced that the "Outlander" couple is still dating.

Sam Heughan and Caitriona Balfe were spotted in a shopping mall in South Africa where they filmed for ''Outlander" Season 3. Many believed that the pair was on a date and was enjoying each other's company during their day off, Starz Post reported. However, Balfe was stern in denying their romance.

"We're not together," Caitriona Balfe told E! News. "We're not together. I'm sorry to break people's hearts. They like to try to maybe replicate the Claire and Jamie story. But I think it would be difficult for us to work together and be together."

Sam Heughan was also aware that fans wanted to see him and Caitriona Balfe on a date in real life. However, the actor believed that those viewers were just buying the show and they felt duped that his romance with Balfe was limited to the small screen only.

However, despite Sam Heughan and Caitriona Balfe's denial, some fans remained unconvinced that they are not an item. According to CelebDirtyLaundry, the "Outlander" actor's romance with MacKenzie Mauzy was just a stunt.

Per the report, Sam Heughan and MacKenzie Mauzy only made one public appearance together when they appeared at the Oscar in February. Also, they were miles apart, which made dating for the pair more challenging. Mauzy was in Los Angeles while Heughan spent most of his time in Europe.
