“Once Upon a Time” Season 6 will have a two-part season finale as revealed by EP Adam Horowitz himself. He tweeted a peek of the scripts which also revealed the titles to be “The Final Battle Part 1” and “The Final Battle Part 2.” Horowitz also used the hashtags #OnceUponATime and #titlespoilers.

The tweets gave away hints that “Once Upon a Time” Season 6 will end with a bang. It may also be suggesting that the speculations going around that Snow White (Ginnifer Goodwin) and Prince Charming (Josh Dallas) may die in the final battle and may not be around next season are true. Meanwhile, other members of the cast Jennifer Morrison, Lana Parrilla, Robert Carlyle and Colin O’Donoghue are already in talks to extend their expiring contracts.

If all goes well with their contract extensions, fans will be seeing more of Emma Swan, Evil Queen, Rumpelstiltskin and Captain Hook in Storybrooke after “Once Upon a Time” Season 6. There is still no news about the fate of the rest of the cast according to Entertainment Weekly. But, ABC has not made an official announcement if it is renewing the fantasy drama. The fate of the show still remains up in the air as of now.

ABC president Channing Dungey once teased that the series will undergo a reboot if it goes beyond “Once Upon a Time” Season 6. In January, Horowitz and another EP Edward Kitsis echoed Dungey’s statement and suggested that the show will hit a “reset” button.

Dungey said in an interview with Deadline that Horowitz and Kitsis are already working on some interesting stuff should the series get a seventh season. They will have another meeting in the next few weeks to talk about what is rumored to be the radical new direction the show is taking after the “Once Upon a Time” Season 6 finale. Dungey added that the producers have a good sense of engaging fans and wanting to end the story in the right way.

Channing Dungey assured fans that there will be a little bit of closure for “Once Upon a Time” Season 6 regardless of what the decision will be for a seventh season. As of now, it looks like the show is getting a reboot, the biggest one yet in its history even if it has reinvented itself several times in the past.
