Apple released iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus as a new Special Edition Red color option last week. Apple has released the new iPhone with red color as an acknowledgment of more than 10 years of its alliance with (RED).

The new red color for Apple iPhone 7 and 7 Plus will enable consumers to add their share to the Global Fund to help fight HIV/AIDS program in Africa. The red color iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus is the first ever RED iPhone. However, the company has previously red colored accessories for the iPhone to contribute to the fund, The Verge reported.

RED Apple iPhone 7 and 7 Plus join the current PRODUCT RED lineup that includes iPod, Beats Solo 3 Wireless headphones, Beats Pill+ portable Bluetooth speaker, a battery case for iPhone and other accessories that are available for iPhone, iPad and Apple Watch, Macrumors reported.

Apple is the biggest contributor of Global Funds that provides support for HIV/AIDS. Apple has solely contributed $130 million out the $465 million raised by the organization. By launching the new Apple iPhone 7 and 7 Plus in red, Apple has made its buyers to silently contribute to the funds. In an interview, Tim Cook said, "Ten years ago there were 1,200 children being conceived a day with HIV, and now dropped to 400. So there's been a big difference yet despite everything we have work to do to get to an age-free by 2020, even though we are on target, it's inside our sights."

The new Product (RED) iPhone 7 and 7 Plus feature a red aluminum finish and everything in the hardware department remains the same. However, only the 128GB and 256GB variants will be available in the red color option. The special color scheme was also adopted for the App Store and associated top apps for the World AIDS day.

The new red iPhone 7 and 7 Plus are available in many stores across the world at the same price of the other color options. Apple has said that the new color iPhones will begin shipping to customers by the end of March.
