‘One Piece’ News: Series Reportedly Ending Soon; Eiichiro Oda Talks Favorite Characters

It appears that "One Piece" will be wrapping up its seafaring stories soon. A new report suggests that the long-running manga and anime series may end after the Whole Cake Island arc. There is no official confirmation to the rumor yet.

According to Starz Post, some fans are speculating that "One Piece" will end in a couple of months. Eiichiro Oda revealed last year that there could be around 20 percent of the story left. This has led fans to speculate that the manga creator may no longer have any stories to tell.

It is further speculated that the Whole Cake Island arc will wrap up "One Piece." Another factor that added to the speculations about "One Piece" ending soon is the arrival of a spin-off series sometime this year. There is no set date for the spin-off's debut yet but fans are nonetheless looking forward to the Portgas D. Ace starrer.

Some fans who picked up the rumor have expressed dismay over the potential end of "One Piece." For many, there are still numerous tales that need to be told and adventures that Luffy has to conquer. Also, the Whole Cake Island arc is not even focused on Luffy's pursuit of Gol D. Roger's greatest treasure.

Eiichiro Oda has yet to officially address the rumor about "One Piece" coming to an end soon. However, he recently spoke about his favorite characters in the hit series. According to Comic Book, the famed manga creator revealed that his all-time favorite pirate is Gaimon.

For starters, Gaimon is the man stuffed inside a treasure box. When asked about his favorite villain, he said he would choose Buggy the Clown. As fans for "One Piece" know very well, Buggy the Clown is one of Monkey D. Luffy's archenemies. Unfortunately, he has not defeated the leader of the Straw Hat pirates yet.

The "One Piece" manga is currently telling the story of the Straw Hats' efforts in retrieving Sanji. It remains to be seen if the Vinsmoke prince will tie the knot with Charlotte Pudding. Stay tuned for more "One Piece" news and updates.
