Disney fans will have to wait a little bit more for "Frozen 2". The film's producer, Peter Del Vecho, said that the script was still being written and production hasn't started yet. The main cast will return to reprise their roles, but the biggest thing viewers will see is that the sequel will have new twists that will make viewers see "Frozen" in a new light.

In 2013, Disney released "Frozen", a retelling of the Snow Queen's story. In 2015, the studio followed that up with a short film, "Frozen Fever". Now, Disney is working on its sequel, "Frozen 2". There's still no confirmation about the plot, but the producers have promised that it will make viewers see the first movie in a different way.

"Frozen 2" movie producer Peter Del Vecho told Entertainment Weekly that the team was still on the development writing process. The script is coming along, but the plot might still change, so he will not give hints about it. Del Vecho did say, "You understand things better in the first movie after you've seen the sequel."

This could actually mean that viewers will finally see the origins of Elsa's powers and the curse. In the first movie, she was able to control snow and ice. In the "Frozen Fever", her powers grew, making her stronger. There's a chance she will have trouble dealing with her powers again in "Frozen 2" in addition to finding the origin of the curse.

Although there's still no release date, the Telegraph reported that it might hit the theaters in 2019 or 2020. Disney has released a slate of movies for 2017 and 2018 and "Frozen 2" is not on the list. Kristen Bell, Idina Menzel, Josh Gad, and Jonathan Groff will return to reprise their roles. Surprisingly, Alan Tudyk will also be back as the Duke of Weselton, a minor antagonist who wanted Elsa to be imprisoned for her powers in "Frozen".

Jennifer Lee will also return to direct "Frozen 2". Most Disney animated sequels in the past were straight-to-video movies. Their soundtracks were also not as iconic as the first ones. Reportedly, this "Frozen" sequel will have a duet between Anna and Elsa as its central theme song.
