Taylor Swift is refusing to attend this year's star-studded MET Gala in New York City. Reports said that it might be because she is avoiding her co-singer, Katy Perry. Last year, the Metropolitan Museum of Art announced that Perry will serve as co-chair at the biggest American social and fashion event of the year for 2017.

It is known that Taylor Swift never missed high-profile events like the MET. But this year it seems like the former country singer is skipping it due to her feud with Perry.  It is known that they have both published on social media their hatred toward each other. It all began when Swift clarifies to Rolling Stone in an interview last 2014 that her song “Bad Blood” was about a betrayer that ruined their friendship. Many assumed that it is aimed for the "Dark Horse" singer.

Perry answered a query from a fan that she would consider to collaborate with Swift only if she confirmed and apologized about the song that sparks their dispute, as reported by Billboard. Meanwhile, Swift has an unwavering decision that she’s not ever going to back down. Since then, the two have been avoiding each other.

Recently, many speculated that Perry has again taken swipe over her pop rival on the cover of Vogue. The photo was speculated to be a mirror image of Swift’s photo way back April 2016, as reported by The Sun. Both Swift and Perry have similar rocking platinum hair and the clear red theme on each cover. Many said that this would again add fuel to the fire between the two.

In the meantime, the theme of the 2017 Met Gala will focus on Rei Kawakubo’s designs “Art of the In-Between” as the “first monographic show on a living designer”. Joining her will be singer-songwriter Pharrell Williams, Vogue editor-in-chief, Anna Wintour, and Japanese designer Rei Kawakubo.
