‘The Flash’ Season 3 Episode 19 Spoilers: Grant Gustin, Candice Patton Talks Barry, Iris’ Fate

Grant Gustin dished on Barry Allen's travel to the year 2024 in "The Flash" Season 3 Episode 19 in a recent interview. Likewise, Candice Patton talked briefly about Iris' death in the episode titled "The Once and Future Flash."

"The Flash "Season 3 Episode 19 takes off after Abra Kadabra tells Barry that he is from the future and that he knows Savitar. Desperate to find more details about the God of Speed, Barry travels to 2024 to find out Savitar's identity.

However, the future has surprises for him. In "The Flash" Season 3 Episode 19, Barry finds out that Savitar eventually kills Iris West, because in the future she is already dead. He also sees that his friends have all changed after she died. Patton said Iris' death changed everyone in Team Flash, especially Barry, who refused to accept that she is gone. "You see this older version of Barry Allen that hasn't really ever gotten over the death of Iris West," Patton told TV Line.

Gustin chimed in and said that future Barry is in shambles in "The Flash" Season 3 Episode 19. The promo for "The Once and Future Flash" gave a glimpse of the future and present Barry meeting each other. Older Barry appears disheveled and seems to have lost hope in life.

However, present Barry will do everything he can to prevent Savitar from killing Iris. Gustin revealed that in "The Flash" Season 3 Episode 19, the speedster becomes too involved in the future after he learned about Iris' death. Barry is no longer in 2024 just to learn about Savitar's identity, but also to find out how Iris dies. "This is definitely his most involved trip to the future or the past because he's there for a predominant part of the episode and tries to get some clues as to how this went down in the future so he can come back and stop it," Gustin told Entertainment Weekly.

Gustin added that Barry starts to get answers soon in "The Flash" Season 3 Episode 19. He teased that the episode, which airs on April 25, shows a determined Barry. Nothing is going to stop him from knowing Savitar's identity and preventing Iris' death.
