'The Winds of Winter' Already In Proofreading Phase, Neil Gaiman Rumored To Co-Write The Book

Fans are all wondering about the status of the much-awaited novel "The Winds of Winter". Rumors are widely spreading that George RR Martin is already in the proofreading phase. It is also rumored that it will also be his co-writer Neil Gaiman who will handle the novel soon.

With the author's busy schedule, this hinted to some fans that maybe Martin has already finished "The Winds of Winter". Fans can't help but to assumed that this might explain why he has now a lot of time to do other things. The author is busy working with the Stagecoach Foundation.

The first anticipated release date for "The Winds of Winter" will be sometime this 2017, as reported by NME. It has been six years since the last published book "A Dance With Dragons". There are already several release date that has been announced but until now the book is still nowhere to be seen in bookstores. The author has missed numerous deadlines and fans are already getting impatient.

Martin admitted that he has been struggling in writing since 2016. He wouldn't able to meet the deadline because he claims that there were tons still left to write, as reported by Telegraph. There are also speculations that he would wait for the Season 8 to air before the "The Winds of Winter" will be set out. Though Martin has been very secretive about his works, some assumed that the delay is due to the author's desire to release the novel alongside to its sequel, "A Dream of Spring".

Also, George RR Martin is said to have already forwarded the draft of "The Winds of Winter"  to Neil Gaiman which is believed that both are working together to finish the book. Yet, neither George RR Martin nor Neil Gaiman has confirmed anything.
