The Duggars are very popular for their conservative family values. However, the "19 Kids and Counting" brood is facing another controversy after the critics question their religious beliefs.

The Duggar family follows the traditional beliefs founded in the bible. However, aside from this the "Counting On" family is also well-known for making women overly submissive to men within their home, Inquisitr reported.

The Duggar family are more than Independent Baptist, per The Hollywood Gossip. Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar's family are also reportedly part of a Quiverfull movement. This movement is a contingent of conservative Christians who doesn't practice contraception. However, Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar do not formally consider themselves as "Quiverfull" Christians, Huffington Post reported. The report added that even if the family doesn't openly embrace the movement, their life mirrors a number of its core principle.

The name "quiver" is taken from the passage in Psalm 127 that state that "Children are a heritage from the Lord, offspring a reward from him. Like arrows in the hands of a warrior are children born in one's youth. Blessed is the man whose quiver is full of them. They will not be put to shame when they contend with their opponents in court." The word in old English refers to the case of holding arrows.

Couples who are members of this movement believe that God will not give them more children that they can't handle because He "closes and opens" their womb. Every time a baby arrives, the family feels blessed, so they don't use contraception.

Aside from this, the patriarch is the only member who is allowed to address questions regarding their religious beliefs. The family follows this routine after facing an intense scrutiny due to Josh Duggar's scandal.

The eldest member of the "19 Kids and Counting" reportedly molested five girls, four of which are his sisters. When the molestation scandal went public, it cost the family their long-running reality show on TLC. Aside from this, he confessed of his unfaithfulness to his wife.

The family has already moved on from the said controversy. In fact, Josh Duggar and wife, Anna are already expecting another child.

Do you agree that the Duggars belong to the Quiverfull movement? What keeps the family from admitting it? Drop a comment below.
