The trailer for "Star Wars: The Last Jedi" had fans guessing that Luke Skywalker turns to the Dark Side in the movie. A source hinted at this possibility because Luke supposedly has something that belongs to his father, Darth Vader.
Luke's last words in the trailer, "It's time for the Jedi to end," seem an ominous prediction about his fate in the movie. Considering speculations that the Last Jedi in the title refers to Luke, fans worry that he dies or worse, turns to the Dark Side. A source for Making Star Wars shed some light on this theory using a piece of jewelry that Luke treasures.
According to the insider, in "Star Wars: The Last Jedi" Luke Skywalker wears a necklace that looks like a dog whistle from a distance. However, it is no ordinary jewelry since it holds something special from his father Anakin Skywalker aka Darth Vader. The bottom part of the necklace has a red crystal protruding from it.
Interestingly, the presence of the red crystal aligns with previous reports that Luke Skywalker has bits and pieces of Darth Vader's lightsaber. It also connects to speculations that he is protecting or hiding a Kyber crystal. It is true that the Jedi Master wears the said necklace in "Star Wars: The Last Jedi" and this could explain why he could be tempted to turn to the Dark Side.
Mark Hamill even hinted that Luke Skywalker turns to the Dark Side in "Star Wars: The Last Jedi." According to Screenrant, the actor said, "it's possible," when asked if Luke turns evil. The publication claimed that the presence of Darth Vader's Kyber crystal close to Luke's heart potentially suggests a dark turn for the Jedi Master.
After all, the gem belongs to his father and he is overprotective over it. A theory is that Luke might do something evil to ensure it remains with him, including killing Kylo Ren, who is believed to be his nephew. Kylo worships Darth Vader and he is bound to go after Luke because of the Kyber crystal.© 2019 Mstars News, All rights reserved. Do not reproduce without permission.
