"Game of Thrones" Season 7 may see a lovable character return from the dead. HBO recently teased the return of Bran's guardian and friend Hodor in a video promotion for the upcoming installment.

The HBO series is not short on resurrection stories--from Jon Snow to Benjen Stark, so it would not be a surprise to see Hodor come alive. This is what the network seems to suggest in its promotional video for "Game of Thrones" Season 7. Winter Is Coming shared the short clip that features the major characters in the series, from Jon, Daenerys, Cersei, Tyron, Bran and so on.

However, one person stood out--Hodor. His inclusion in the promo for "Game of Thrones" Season 7 intrigued fans and stirred speculations about his return. After all, he died in the Season 6 episode "The Door." Hodor held the door while the White Walkers attacked him to give Meera and Bran enough time to escape.

Hodor’s appearance stirred speculations that he returns as a White Walker in “Game of Thrones” Season 7. HBO has yet to explain his appearance in the promo, but actor Kristian Nairn has spoken up about the speculations. Nairn, who plays Hodor, acknowledged the fact that it would be no surprise if his dead character returns.

Nairn told the Belfast Telegraph that as an actor, he would love to reprise Hodor in "Game of Thrones" Season 7, be it as a White Walker or not. However, he also admitted that he likes how Hodor's story ended. He thinks there has been enough rebirth that happened to add one more.

Likewise, Nairn declined to comment further on the speculations to avoid spoiling "Game of Thrones" Season 7. Fans will just have to wait and see if Hodor returns as a White Walker or not when the show returns on July 16.
