Indiana Pacers superstar Paul George has not been shy in declaring his desire to play for the LA Lakers. In fact, it is widely known that he will be headed to the City of Angels once he becomes a free agent. Now, another big name player is said to be currently in trade talks with the Lakers. He is Kristaps Porzingis of the New York Knicks and if both of their deals pull through, they could possibly be NBA’s new dynamic duo.

Paul George had one of the best seasons of his career with a 22.8 point average that is the second highest in his career. Surprisingly, he has shown no lasting effects from his almost career-ending injury that forced him to sit out most of the 2014-15 season. And, at 26 years old, he is in the prime of his career.

If the Pacers do keep Paul George heading into next season and will be able to move near the top of the Eastern Conference, he might decide to stay. But, in the event that the team will have another season that it just had, it would be wise for George to find a new home reports Basketball Insiders.

Meanwhile, Phil Jackson looks like he has alienated another New York Knicks star besides Carmelo Anthony. Forward Kristaps Porzingis revealed that he still hasn’t spoken to anyone from the team since their season ended on April 12. He is now in Latvia where he is set to join their national team in the European championships – a move he did not clear with the Knicks organization.

Reports say that Kristaps Porzingis is disappointed at the way Jackson is handling the Carmelo situation. He is said to have skipped his exit meeting with the Knicks after the season and has refused to talk what happened between them reports the Bleacher Report. With Melo on his way out of the team, Porzingis emerges as the Knicks’ franchise player. He also once said that he wants to stay with the team during his entire career but also said he values winning more than anything else.

Like Paul George, the LA Lakers are the heavy favorites to acquire Kristaps Porzingis. Ironically, the trade would be made possible by Phil Jackson himself. He has strong connections with the Buss family, who owns the Lakers. It may sound farfetched but it could be the only team he may agree to give up Porzingis for.

Do you think the Paul George and Kristap Porzingis trade to the LA Lakers will ever happen? Will the trade give the two players a better shot at the elusive NBA championship than in their current teams? Tell us what you think in the space below.
