The launch of the long rumored game "Pokemon Stars" will be pushed back for a 2017 Holidays release say reports. The news comes even when there has been no confirmation of the new game’s existence itself. But, with reports about a new line of Pokemon merchandise just released in the Japanese market, the gamers’ hopes have been kept alive. The line is interestingly named “Look Upon the Stars.”

The rumors of a “Pokemon Stars” development started due to an online job listing which was later translated by Siliconera. The ad supposedly said that Game Freak is looking for new employees to begin work on a “globally popular RPG.” The job listing hinted that the job is for a "a title that just about anyone knows.” This led to a lot of fans to speculate that the job could be Pokémon related.

The job listing has made gamers think that “Pokemon Stars” will be an entirely new game from “Pokemon Sun and Moon.” This is based mainly on the Game Freak ad looking for people who have experience with character modeling and 3D CG design. In addition, it says that someone familiar with Maya, an animation software is preferred.

Still, there are others who think that “Pokemon Stars” is nothing but an upgraded version of the “Pokemon Sun and Moon” that can be played on the Nintendo Switch. Meanwhile, some gamers are of the thinking that it may even just be a port that will allow the game to be played on the gaming console.

There is also the practical reason why Nintendo Switch players would want an innovative and interesting game like “Pokemon Sun and Moon” and the rumored “Pokemon Stars.” The gaming console recently launched limited gaming options which disappointed a lot of its gamers reports Euro Game. They are also fed up with playing the same game all of the time.

If “Pokemon Stars” is really in development in whatever form, holding the game off for a holiday release is a wise move since people do tend to spend more during the season. Besides, a Pokemon game for the Nintendo Switch might just drive up the sales for the console and also of the merchandise.
