Google Allo has a new feature, and it is taking a selfie and making it a sticker that can be customized. The app might also be integrated to Google Duo, which will open up a lot of new possibilities for the Instant Messaging platform.

The Google Allo App now allows users to turn their selfies into stickers that can be used inside the messaging app. The selfies are converted into cartoon-like personal stickers, as reported by ZDNet. The concept is similar to Snaptchat's Bitmoji, but the implementation is quite different. How does the app do the wonderful trick? By an advanced algorithm that Google has made.

Google Allo is a bit different than Bitmoji or any similar apps, it uses an advanced searching algorithm. The algorithm picks out features of a person's face and then searches from some artists' sets of features such as hairstyles for customization. Human raters then teach the network to match the different facial features with selfies.

The output from Google Allo is so far favored by the users. The stickers do really look good, and the algorithm gets better and better the more people uses it. There is, however, some limitations for this app. One limitation is that the stickers that will be produced will only be available on Google Allo app. Another limitation is that it does not have the basic features of messaging apps such as SMS integration and availability to other platforms.

Though it is expected that Google Allo will have a huge revamp when it will be integrated to Google Duo. It is highly possible that the two will be merged, according to Ausdroid. When this happens, Google Allo will be able to call to start Google Duo calls from Allo conversations. Group invitations will also become a piece of cake with QR code options.
