Yorkey said the installment will give a flashback into Hannah Baker's life, into her past. This way, viewers will learn the truth behind her suicide. "That's going to take us into the past, into Hannah's story. We're going to get some new context for events we already know about and we're going to see a lot of things we hadn't even heard about yet that fill in some really interesting gaps in our understanding of who Hannah Baker was and what her life was," Yorkey told Entertainment Weekly.

Likewise, the showrunner assured that "13 Reasons Why" Season 2 will answer all the cliffhangers in Season 1. The installment will look back at all the events that lead to Hannah Baker's suicide. These include her rape and Jessica's rape and the bullying in school.

However, "13 Reasons Why" Season 2 will change in terms of how the story will be told. Modern technology will replace the cassette tapes and Hannah Baker's voice will no longer be the voiceover. Still, the installment will feature different timelines and it will show how these timeframes have an impact on each other.

Netflix has yet to announce an exact release date for "13 Reasons Why" Season 2, although it is scheduled in 2018. According to Heat, it will likely air in the Spring.
