Katy Perry To Judge In 'American Idol'; 'Bon Appéti' Singer To Release Album 'Witness' Soon

Katy Perry is rumored to be one of the judges at the renewal of the upcoming iconic singing competition, American Idol. It will premiere on March 2018 at ABC. The "Bon Appetit" singer also recently revealed the title of her new upcoming album, "Witness". 

After the "American Idol" settled for 15 seasons at FOX, ABC has already acquired privilege to air the show. On the list of favored judges includes Kelly Clarkson, Jennifer Hudson, and Simon Cowell though all of them aren't able to consider the offer. Hudson and Clarkson are to join NBC's Season 13-14 of 'The Voice' as coaches, meanwhile, Cowell already passed the opportunity. To replace Clarkson's place, ABC is reported to be courting the Perry and reports claimed that the negotiation for the singer to join the judging panel is almost completed, as reported by Mail Online.

Perry has been a guest judge on UK's "The X Factor" and have already turned down to be a mentor on NBC's "The Voice" including the multiple eight-figure salary offer. So speculations said that there is no solid offer that could keep the singer lock in the contract for the "American Idol". Also, the still unknown 2 judges would likely be a songwriter and a music producer. The show will still be hosted by Ryan Seacrest, as reported by TMZ.

Meanwhile, Perry has just uncovered her new anticipated fourth major album called "Witness" and published dates for massive tours. Her upcoming album will be released by Capitol Records on June 9. It will include her previously released singles "Chained to the Rhythm" in collaboration with Skip Marley and " Bon Appetit" featuring Migos. She also announced the dates for her tour around North America which will start at Schottenstein Center in Columbus, Ohio on September 7.
