Chris Cornell's cause of death was released and it is confirmed that the singer has died from suicide by hanging. His wife is reportedly clueless about the singer's suicidal tendencies and is shocked that his husband would do that. Imagine Dragon's Dan Reynold paid a tribute to the singer at the 2017 Billboard Music Awards.

After the autopsy, it has been declared that the 52-year-old Cornell has died through suicide by hanging, as reported by Metro. The full autopsy report is still not completed, but there are no additional reports that are given regarding the singer's case. The angle of suicide was dismissed earlier until its confirmation just today (May 22). His passing was originally labeled as "Sudden and unexpected".

Cornell's wife, Vicky Karayiannis did not believe that his husband had suicidal tendencies. Karayiannis even spoke with her husband during the soundcheck Cornell performed in his last concert. The wife insisted that there are no signs that Cornell was depressed or had suicidal thoughts.

"When we spoke after the show, I noticed he was slurring his words; he was different," Vicky Cornell said. "When he told me he may have taken an extra Ativan or two, I contacted security and asked that they check on him. What happened is inexplicable, and I am hopeful that further medical reports will provide additional details."

The music industry is mourning the death of Cornell. Artists from the industry have made tributes for the Soundgarden and Audioslave singer, as reported by E! News. One of them is Imagine Dragon's Dan Reynolds who spoke about Cornell as a "true innovator, a musical architect, and pioneer on the cutting edge of the Seattle grunge movement."

Cornell has been found in his hotel room last Thursday, May 18. He was found in his hotel room bathroom by a family friend. The singer was known for his works as a part of bands Audioslave and Soundgarden.
