Fans will have to wait a little longer for "Game of Thrones" Season 8 since it does not air until two years from now. To tie fans over the long wait, the casts have teased what happens in the installment and hinted at a bloody final season.

HBO President of Programming Casey Bloys confirmed the delayed release of "Game of Thrones" Season 8 in a recent interview. He said that the final season does not air until 2019. He suggested that the lengthy writing process could hold up the release.

"They [showrunners David Benioff and D.B. Weiss] have to write the episodes and figure out the production schedule. We'll have a better sense of that once they get further into the writing," Bloys told Entertainment Weekly.

The delay of "Game of Thrones" Season 8 is sure to disappoint fans. However, this is not the first time that this has happened. Season 7 also got delayed because of production, resulting to its July premiere.

Regardless, the casts have given fans something to look forward to in the final season. They hinted at what could be a bloody end to the series when "Game of Thrones" Season 8 airs in 2019. According to Digital Spy, the casts were asked to describe the final season. They only had one thing to say and that is "carnage."

They also hinted at a character's possible demise in "Game of Thrones" Season 8. At least one character's fate becomes uncertain and "fatal." Maisie Williams, who plays Arya Stark, previously hinted at Sansa's death in the final season. Bloys also teased at what could be another epic battle scene in the installment.

Regardless, deaths are very common in the series. The past seasons have their share of character deaths, be it major or minor. So it is not surprising to hear the casts associate "Game of Thrones" Season 8 with bloodshed.
