"Stranger Things" Season 2 is going to get a lot darker, according to the casts of the Netflix series. The installment features more eerie and disturbing episodes, especially in the first opening scenes where it focuses on Will's suffering.

The young casts teased what happens in the first few episodes of "Stranger Things" Season 2 in a recent interview with TV Line. Finn Wolfhard (Mike) revealed that "scarier stuff happens" especially to Will. "Something happens to Will in the first couple of episodes that's very, very disturbing," he said.

Wolfhard may be referring to the disturbing images Will sees in "Stranger Things" Season 2. The trailer showed his encounter with a giant spider. It is probably only Will who sees the creature. Of course, his friends know that he in unwell. They believe that his stay in the Upside Down greatly affected him. "They know he is not well but they are just trying to pretend [nothing] happened," Gaten Matarazzo (Dustin) added.

"Stranger Things" Season 2 will explore the effect his stay on the Upside Down has on Will. He is not himself and he is suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder. He is seeing things as result of his stay in the dark dimension.

Series director Shawn Levy confirmed that "Stranger Things" Season 2 focuses on Will and his mental state. "Will Byers is very much at the center of season two," he told Mashable. Viewers will see Will's transformation and suffering as he continues to see the Upside Down. Fans will see more of the character as opposed to his brief appearance in Season 1.

Aside from Will, "Stranger Things" Season 2 also further explores the Upside Down. The installment is "darker and more eerie" with the introduction of a new monster. Showrunner Ross Duffer confirmed that the new season brings the horror "more up-close and personal."
