'Avengers 2' Movie Rumors: New Characters, Jeremy Renner's Hawkeye Being Recast? Black Panther, Quicksilver, Scarlet Witch News

In case you haven't noticed with the success of "Iron Man 3" this summer, comic book movies are all the rage. 2012's "The Avengers" was a huge box office success and there will be high expectations for "The Avengers 2," which is set to come out May 1, 2015. The news and rumors are heating up surrounding the sequel with the latest rumors involving the inclusion of the Black Panther character and a possible recasting of Jeremy Renner's Hawkeye. There will definitely be plenty of new rumors over the next two years as the film's premiere grows closer.

Bleedingcool.com is reporting that chairman of South Africa's Cape Town Film Studios revealed on a radio station that Marvel Studios is interested in filming "The Avengers 2" in Cape Town, South Africa. Black Panther, who has already been a rumored character, is based in South Africa in a lot of his stories. Is there a connection?

As for the Jeremy Renner recast rumor, Comicbookmovie.com is reporting through their anonymous source that the movie studio could be moving on from Renner after he criticized his character in the original "Avengers" movie. There is also a chance that the Hawkeye character will just get recast. Stay tuned for more.

Finally, the last rumor involving "The Avengers 2" is a brother, sister team of characters. Writer and director Joss Whedon, revealed to IGN in an interview that "X-Men" villain Magneto's kids will be making an appearance in the "Avengers" sequel. Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch are the latest characters to get a role in the future blockbuster.

"They're interesting to me because they sort of represent the part of the world that wouldn't necessarily agree with The Avengers," Whedon explained to IGN. "So they're not there to make things easier. I'm not putting any characters in the movie that will make things easier."
