UFC president Dana White is a no-nonsense type of guy. When he says he is going to do something, it usually gets done. White told MMAJunkie.com that lightweight fighter Nate Diaz will be suspended by the UFC and could possibly be released for violating the MMA organization's code of conduct. Diaz posted a controversial tweet on Thursday, using a gay slur towards fellow UFC fighter Bryan Caraway.

Earlier this year UFC issued a new code of conduct banning fighters from using discriminatory or derogatory language. On Thursday, Diaz posted a pair of tweets defending Pat Healy, who had his $130,000 in bonus money from UFC 159 rescinded after testing positive for marijuana. Healy won "Fight of the Night" and "Submission of the Night" bonuses. However, the $65,000 for the "Submission of the Night" was transferred to Caraway after he lobbied for the bonus and voiced his disapproval of marijuana use.

This is when Diaz tweeted on Thursday, "I feel bad for Pat Healy that they took an innocent man's money away and I think the guy who took the money is the biggest (gay slur) in the world." On Friday UFC issued the following statement: "UFC lightweight Nate Diaz has received an immediate 90-day suspension and $20,000 fine for violating the UFC's fighter code of conduct. The language used in his tweet was regrettable, offensive and inconsistent with the values and culture of the organization, and is not tolerated."

However, Diaz's manager Mike Kokan defended his fighter's tweet, and according to USA Today, advised Diaz to keep the tweet up. Kokan argued that the word Diaz used has a different meaning in Northern California. Kokan even suggested that people look up the meaning of the word in the Urban Dictionary.

"Nate voiced a personal opinion about an incident that took place involving Bryan Caraway in which he chased Dana all over Twitter to try to get a bonus, which was taken away from Pat Healy, got the bonus, and then had the nerve to go back out there and bash (Healy)," Kogan said (via USA Today).
