Controversial actor Charlie Sheen made an interesting career move recently by changing back to his birth name Carlos Estevez. TMZ reported the name change, which was reportedly done for his upcoming movie "Machete Kills." Sheen of course is the son of 72-year-old actor Martin Sheen and the brother of 51-year-old Emilio Estevez, who kept his birth name while becoming an actor. "Machete Kills" opens September 13 and contains a host of stars, including Danny Trejo, Michelle Rodriguez, Sofia Vergara, Amber Heard, Lady Gaga, Antonio Banderas, Jessica Alba, Vanessa Hudgens, Cuba Gooding, Jr., and Mel Gibson.

This move is a first for Sheen who has always used the name Charlie Sheen for his acting career. The 27-year-old actor will be "introduced" for the first time as Carlos Estevez during promotion for the new movie. According to The Daily Mail, Martin Sheen, whose birth name was Ramón Antonio Gerardo Estévez, felt that he disappointed his father by not keeping his birth name.

The name change goes along with the Robert Rodriguez film, whose movies often demonstrate Latino pride. "Machete Kills" is the sequel to 2010's "Machete." Sheen aka Estevez plays the president of the USA who recruits Machete (an ex-Federale agent) to take down an arms dealer.

"Machete Kills" is a highly anticipated film with a number of controversial stars in the September 2013 film. Charlie Sheen may not even be the most controversial star in the movie, with Mel Gibson making an appearance as Luther Voz. Lady Gaga will also be making her big movie debut as La Chameleon.

What do you think of Charlie Sheen's official name change to Carlos Estevez? Do you think it will make him more or less recognizable?
