'American Idol' 2013 Judges: Jennifer Hudson Joins Season 13, Kelly Clarkson, Clay Aiken, Adam Lambert Rumored

"American Idol" is about to go through some major changes heading into season 13. After disappointing ratings during season 12, the show will reportedly be bringing on all new judges for the next season after the Nicki Minaj, Keith Urban, and Mariah Carey judging experiment failed. Jennifer Hudson was rumored to be the first judge on season 13 and now E! Online has confirmed these reports. In fact, it sounds like FOX wants to bring back a number of "Idol" alums with names such as Clay Aiken, Adam Lambert, and Kelly Clarkson being floated around.

Multiple sources confirmed with E! that Hudson is signed on for season 13. The Oscar winning singer and season 3 "Idol" alum could also be joined by two other former "Idol" singers. E! is reporting that Kelly Clarkson, arguably the biggest star to come from "American Idol" is close to signing on as a judge for season 13 with either Clay Aiken or Adam Lambert closing out a new three person judging panel.

As you can tell by the stars who are rumored to be the next judges, "Idol" producers clearly want to try and reclaim the old audience they lost over the last few seasons. "American Idol" has lost a number of viewers to NBC's "The Voice" and they are in damage control mode to try and reclaim the top spot among singing reality shows.

Despite the reports from E! that Clarkson could be close to signing on as a season 13 judge, Perez Hilton reported recently that Clarkson's rep denied those rumors. We will have to wait and see if the Clarkson rumors turn out to be true.
